We are seeking a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Adult Bone Marrow Transplantation to join the UHCMC Department of Pharmacy Services team. This clinician will work with members of the Seidman Cancer Center Team including physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and pharmacist.
Provide Clinical Pharmacy Services (drug information, drug therapy monitoring, patient-specific consultations, health care staff in-services, pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacoeconomic evaluations, and clinical research) and decision support to improve outcomes for the adult bone marrow transplant patients. Investigate/research/report adverse drug reactions. Participate in Medication Safety and Therapeutics Committee process: evaluate requests for new drug usage and assist in formulary maintenance. Serve as an informational and patient problem solving resource for clinical staff pharmacists and clinical pharmacist specialists. Attends interdisciplinary patient care rounds and monitors the order writing, dispensing, and administration of cytotoxic drugs and monoclonal antibodies throughout the Seidman Cancer Center.
Position Requirements: Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) /eligibility preferred OR five years’ experience as a clinical pharmacist specialist with training in drug therapy of adult malignant hematology/BMT patients including the knowledge and application of clinical pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, drug-drug interactions, and pharmaceutics to patients OR a PGY2 residency in adult hematology/oncology. Training in cost-analysis/cost evaluation techniques preferred. Computer systems skills in spreadsheet, database, and word processing preferred. Must demonstrate highly effective written and oral communication skills.
Education Requirements: Doctor of Pharmacy with completion of an ASHP accredited hospital or clinical residency program (PGY1 AND PGY2 residency in adult hematology/oncology with bone marrow transplant emphasis preferred)
License Requirements: Pharmacist licensure in the State of Ohio
Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in Adult BMT Oncology preferred. PGY1 Pharmacy Practice and PGY2 in adult oncology preferred.
