The Nursing Director, Seidman Cancer Center oversees the design, development, implementation and evaluation of models, processes and standards to improve nursing operations, nursing practice, care delivery, the patient experience, and care management across the ambulatory and infusion units at Seidman Cancer Center within the context of Cleveland Medical Center and the UH System goals. The Nursing Director also provides directional guidance to patient and clinical education standards. The Director develops the goals, implementation plans and performance standards to facilitate the delivery of high quality, safe, cost-effective and consistent care

Adult Inpatient Oncology Strategy and Operations
Participate in setting direction for nursing clinical and advocacy arenas within oncology units.
Provide direction to the operations and management of clinical education to ensure alignment within nursing staffing plans and growth strategies, and to maintain quality and accreditation standards.
Serve as a leader for nursing workforce development to increase availability of nurses in collaboration with system nursing leadership and HR.
Design, develop, implement and manage models, standards and processes that directly improve the value of nursing. Improve overall organizational performance, and improve clinical, service, risk and operational outcomes in adult inpatient oncology continuum.
Develop and maintain nursing and clinical infrastructure to enhance decision making and decrease variance in care, quality and safety across all units.
Ensure RN first year and total turnover is at or below benchmark. Provide direction on retention strategies and accountability for sustained improvement.
Facilitate clinical best practice sharing across nursing specialties.
Develop, implement and evaluate operating and capital budgets and oversee financial management for areas of line responsibility including explanation of variances regarding financials and FTEs.
Collaborate with care management regarding the LOS.
Provide oversight for quality of nursing care and care transitions.
Direct and coordinate the strategic planning process for Seidman Cancer Center nursing, in collaboration with the Associate Chief Nursing Officer and system nursing leadership to maximize efficiency, capacity, state of the art technology, etc.
Evaluate measures of patient experience across the adult inpatient oncology continuum in collaboration with system strategy and performance improvement process.
Drive execution of patient experience strategic initiatives within the adult inpatient oncology continuum.
Work in collaboration with nursing leaders on the individual units regarding accountability for partnership in practice and experience.
Maintain leadership role in practice and competencies as they relate to the role of the registered nurse and care partners according to the ANA standards of practice
Work in collaboration with the Associate Chief Nursing Officer Cleveland Medical Center and System CNO regarding any clinical issues and or practice that are subject to board disclosure.
Policy and Compliance
Execute nursing-related clinical policies.
Assure regulatory standards and drive compliance across nursing specialty within adult inpatient oncology continuum.
Enable nursing professional development and excellence.
This position will provide leadership to UH Seidman Cancer Center West Side Ambulatory locations, including Sharon Center, Parma, Westlake & Avon.
7-10 years progressive leadership experience, preferably in a large, complex healthcare setting required.
Academic medical center experience preferred, prior oncology preferred
Bachelor's of Science of Nursing required, Master's degree (MSN, MBA, MHA) strongly preferred
Excellent organizational, analytical and problem solving skills required
Demonstrated clinical knowledge
