As Strategy & Corporate Development Analyst, you will support the Strategy & Corporate Development team and the Executive Leadership Team in developing the company's strategy and implementing strategic initiatives. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for supporting the Company's strategic and financial plans by utilizing various tools, including third party databases and services (e.g. Refinitiv, etc.) to obtain critical public and private market data. You will be a key participant in work planning and execution of multiple strategy and M&A projects, including competitive analysis and research, financial analysis and modeling, due diligence monitoring and reporting on project progress. You are responsible for
Developing and updating complex business and financial models, including dynamic corporate, M&A, and valuation models
Contributing to the development of project plans - identifying objectives, scope, deliverables and work plan monitoring and reporting
Supporting the Corporate Development team with identification, evaluation, due diligence and execution of potential acquisitions, divestitures, partnerships and joint ventures
Identifying and recommending process improvement and tool enhancements
Conducting financial and strategic analysis on a variety of strategy projects, including:
Assessing market size, growth and profitability for current and adjacent markets
Detailed company profitability analysis - for Diebold Nixdorf and competitors
Conducting detailed competitive analysis, including assessing competitor strategies, business models, financial position and public market performance
Building financial models and projections for strategic initiatives, including valuation models
Collecting and interpreting/synthesizing required data/information for financial models
Working closely with internal groups to support various projects and initiatives
Contributing to meeting preparation of materials, presentations and coordination for senior management and Board of Director audiences
Undergraduate degree, with demonstrated capability and experience in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business or other related analytical field is required
1-4 years of experience in a variety of highly analytical roles - e.g., finance, corporate development, strategy, investment banking, public accounting / management consulting, or similar role(s), including analysis of public market and private market companies; demonstrated experience in mergers, acquisitions and divestiture projects for public and/or private companies would be preferred
NOTE - recent graduates will be considered where there is demonstrated, relevant work experience during academic career
Strong written and verbal communications skills, including ability to synthesize data and information and communicate through presentation formats
Adept in analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem solving with the ability to learn and adapt quickly
Advanced Excel modeling skills - comfortable working with large and complex data sets
Demonstrated experience with PowerPoint is a necessity, preferably at an advanced level
Ability to work well both independently and on a team
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills including the ability to effectively work with personnel across all levels of the organization, often under tight timelines
Undergraduate degree in business, economics or related areas; individuals who are in or have completed the CFA program or MBA will be considered to have demonstrated some work experience
Experience in using services such as Refnitiv, Bloomberg, CapitalIQ, FactSet, PitchBook and other third party analytical tools
Project management experience
