Centauri is seeking a highly motivated DevOps Engineer to join our team's Fairborn, Ohio office.

Duties and responsibilities:

Building, testing, deploying, and maintaining Linux container clusters for server suites, both in house at Fairborn site, and at customer sites

Ability to collaborate and communicate directly with project management, system engineering lead, and project coworkers

Develop, test, and maintain build and deployment for CI/CD pipelines.

Drive the program team toward automation and deployment best practices.

Research, propose, and apply new promising technologies, strategies, and ways to solve technical issues

Occasional Java development on server and client applications, with and without user interface components

Utilize Atlassian toolkit, or similar, to track progress/assignments (currently using Confluence and JIRA)

Required Qualification:

Required Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Must be a US citizen and will be submitted for a background check to obtain access to customer sites

Travel as needed - barring COVID restrictions

3-7 years' experience with building, testing, deploying, and maintaining clusters

3-7 years' Java development

Experience with Linux container clusters (Docker) and utilizing container orchestration systems (Kubernetes)

Experience with CI/CD processes and tools such as Git, Gitflow, Jira, Maven, Jenkins, and Nexus

Experience developing software with Java and scripting with UNIX shell scripting

Experience monitoring RHEL servers, VMs and containers, gathering metrics of cluster to maintain health and identifying thresholds for scaling

Ability to deploy, monitor and troubleshoot hardware and software on-site

Preferred Experience/Skills:

Knowledge of current technology stack: Cassandra (or other NoSQL DB), Kafka, NGINX, ApacheDS/Active Directory

Experience with Eclipse RCP

Experience with Application Server/Authentication (TomEE)

Experience with full stack/unified logging

Experience with software security, secure coding, or software assurance tools and techniques

Experience with System Hardening

Experience with developing and automating repeatable tasks

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
