Job Overview:
As a member of the Batavia leadership team, the Production Scheduling Supervisor is responsible for leading the team that creates and maintains scheduled production assets. They conduct capacity analyses, establish continuity in our production process and help ensure all jobs get processed. The Production Scheduling Supervisor must be current with industry trends and the plant's capabilities to understand the most efficient ways to schedule jobs. An ideal candidate is someone with a background in high volume and complex flexographic, lithographic, and digital printing and scheduling.
Job Duties:
Contribute to a culture that fosters an injury free workplace and a safe work environment. Develop robust solutions for safety issues and conduct a STOP Audit once per month. Actively participate in all required safety training. Ensure that safety policies and procedures are followed.
Promote a customer-focused culture in the plant, ensuring on-time deliveries of a quality product and supporting the development of new products and technologies.
Create a culture of relentless pursuit of continuous improvement, instill high performance.
Lead the team that schedules all printing and finishing jobs, manages all MRPs and completes related weekly reporting.
Review min/max levels and offer suggestions on how to modify based on backlogs & efficiencies.
Provide volume, production, product, and business unit reporting metrics as needed.
Establish trend analysis to improve margin erosion & minimize the number of times jobs run per month.
Communicate effectively with the Customer Service, Press Rooms, Finishing and Maintenance
Build, develop and lead a high performing team to support the short-term and long-term growth of the plant.
Develop knowledge and skills to be current in the market and industry for scheduling best practices.
Experience/Skills Recommended:
Bachelor's in Business, Leadership, or Continuous Improvement preferred
Four to six years of relevant scheduling experience.
Experience in the printing industry and experience with Flexographic, Lithographic and Digital printing is preferred.
Demonstrated experience with using data to establish trends and to recommend modifications to maximize efficiency.
Exhibits a safety-first attitude in all that is done, from proper personal protection equipment compliance to keeping the work environment safe and hazard-free. Compliance with all workplace and safety standards required.
Taking on new and additional tasks with comfort and ease and responding cooperatively to learning requirements inherent in such circumstances. Handling and managing new assignments readily.
