Assembly Operator

About the Role

Responsible for the quality and functionality of assembly machinery/ equipment. Makes adjustments, troubleshoots and plant machinery/equipment. Makes adjustments to the equipment, performs line clearance and changeovers until a quality product has been produced. Troubleshoots the equipment to ensure that quality products are being run consistently. Prints tickets and labels FG when required.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

Must respect Amcor Rigid Packaging's primary focus, that is to ensure the Safety of all employees.

Reviews production sheets to determine what products will be run on which machines

Reviews the set-up book to gain knowledge of recent activities regarding tooling, molds, parts etc.

Prepares for changes by reviewing the quality control sheet, pulling all material(s), tools/ equipment and arranges them near the machine.

Changeovers, startups, and line clearance

Inspects for good condition, clearances, loose wires, potential hazards or failures before starting the machine

Replaces necessary parts using established procedures and precautions as required

Inspects products for color, lines, assembly or any other defects and enters adjustments in to the computer to make the necessary corrections. Informs the Supervisor and Quality Manager as necessary

Assists with resolving production problems

Reviews and follows maintenance checklists/logs for all plant machinery/equipment

Maintains condition of machinery/equipment to allow for optimal usage

Maintains accurate log of work performed on all machinery/equipment

Works with maintenance team to performs regular maintenance

Provides training and assistance to new employees

Maintains 5S standards in the job area

Logs downtime in FMS

Performs other duties as assigned

About You

Prefer 1 year experience operating machines. If not, must possess strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

Must be motivated and able to work with minimum supervision.

Must be able to multitask effectively, handle demanding schedules, and effectively work with co-workers.

Must possess a high level of attention-to-detail and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Maintain an exceptional level of attendance and punctuality.
