Olympic Steel, a leading national metals service center, is seeking a talented addition to our team. The Corporate Communications & Marketing Intern position safely performs role-specific responsibilities in line with Olympic Steel’s Core Values to ensure a high level of productivity, quality and internal and external customer service while adhering to all relevant company policies and procedures.
The Corporate Communications & Marketing Intern will be exposed to and directly support many aspects of developing and delivering effective internal / employee and external / marketing communications, including research and audience/platform analysis, communications campaign planning, content development, creative design and communications performance tracking and reporting for Olympic Steel’s print, digital and other communications platforms and special initiatives.
Projects specific to this internship opportunity may include developing social media marketing content and tracking analytics, leading an employee engagement event, archiving company photos and program elements, developing creative recruitment communications, creating content for employee and external marketing communications, gathering and completing trend analysis for communications program performance data, market research and other initiatives in support of Olympic Steel’s Corporate Communications & Marketing strategy.
Candidate must be a college junior or senior pursuing an undergraduate degree in Communications or a similar program with an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Availability to be accessible and consistently work a minimum of 20 hours per week. (Work hours are flexible within a standard 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM work day.)
Basic problem resolution skills with the ability to process information quickly.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, grammar and organizational skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required.
Driven, self-starter with a high degree of professionalism and the ability to work productively and effectively as a remote member of the team.
Strong energy and drive, with proven ability to successfully manage multiple tasks.
Detail-oriented with strong commitment to quality.
Related work experience and community service preferred.
