Job Description
The Electronic Warfare (EW) Technical Demonstrations Researcher in the Test Engineering Division (TEN) performs research for rapid assessment of advanced sensors and Electronic Warfare (EW) technologies. Additionally, the EW Technical Demonstrations Researcher will lead modeling, simulation, and demonstrations of systems at various Test Readiness Levels (TRL) in the Integrated Demonstrations and Applications Laboratory (IDAL) Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. The EW Technical Demonstrations researcher will also provide project and team leadership for the IDAL team.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

Develop and design EW demonstration plans tailored to specific systems based on technical discussion with sponsors
Research and build complex Radio Frequency (RF) scenarios based on EW demonstration plans
Lead IDAL demo team to conduct EW demonstrations
Utilize EW expertise to troubleshoot lab and system-under-test issues across specific system demonstrations
Analyze data based on EW demonstrations and scenario outputs and develop reports based on the data
Lead small to mid-sized projects and/or research teams
Provide GTRI interface to the IDAL government sponsor and reach-back to campus researchers
Perform other duties as assigned

Education & Length of Experience
Research Engineer/Scientist II

A Bachelor's and Master's degree with one or both in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical field and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
A Bachelor's and Master's degree with one or both in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical field and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor's degree, or
A Doctoral degree and Master's degree with one or both in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical field.

Senior Research Engineer/Scientist

A Bachelor's and Master's degree with one or both in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical field and seven (7) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
A Bachelor's and Master's degree with one or both in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical field and nine (9) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor's degree, or
A Doctoral degree and Master's degree with one or both in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical field and four (4) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor's degree.

Required Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of experience in either electronic systems, Avionics, and/or EW test and evaluation

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with radar and EW systems testing, verification, and validation
Experience in the design and test of EW systems
Experience with RF simulation for receiver and jammer systems, including complex modeling and RF simulation of radar systems in lab environments
Experience capturing and evaluating waveforms in the frequency and time domains
Experience working with EW systems over multiple Test Readiness Levels (TRLs)
Experience working with intelligence data products

U.S. Citizenship Requirements
Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.
Clearance Type Required
Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.
