Job Overview

The Office of Graduate Education in the College of Medicine is currently seeking a Program Manager who will assist in the daily operations of the Office of Graduate Education and to the University of Cincinnati PREP program with an approximately 50:50 time split between the two programs.  The Office of Graduate Education serves as the administrative hub for all College of Medicine PhD programs, MS programs, professional practice degrees, and Graduate Certificates offered by the UC College of Medicine.  PREP is a one-year program to assist STEM graduates from underrepresented groups gain entry into a PhD program.

Office of Graduate Education, this position will assist in the planning, coordination and fiscal oversight of specialized events and recruitment activities within the OGE.

PREP program, this position will manage the day to day activities for the 4-6 PREP trainees, including mentoring, tutoring and other activities associated with the program.

Essential Functions

Manage, design, develop, modify and present programs.  Perform program needs assessment and make recommendations.
Implement policies and procedures.
Maintain budget, prepare contracts, approve and monitor expenditures, prepare budget requests and financial reports.
Act as liaison to internal departments, external entities and community organizations.
May prepare and edit reports and/or newsletters and develop publication materials.
May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.

Required Education

Bachelor's Degree.
Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

Three (3) years of experience in program development or business administration.
May require supervision experience.
