We have an opportunity for an EHS Specialist to join our Ashland, OH team. You will manage all technical aspects of safety, occupational health and environmental compliance and sustainability for Ashland. In this role, the EHS Engineer will work closely with all site functional areas, the site EHS Leader and Enterprise EHS to ensure that all parties understand compliance requirements and to ensure they are met or exceeded. Effectiveness in this position will require the ability to influence, impact and motivate non-subordinate employees working with and through them to maintain facility compliance, and drive behavioral and sustainable results.
Be responsible for all EHS compliance with company, local, and US requirements. This will include managing regulatory projects including but not limited to, permit application and renewals, regulatory inspection & citation response, permit non-conformances, environmental remediation projects and significant environmental improvement projects, including providing documentation to demonstrate compliance with all company and agency requirements.
Collaborate with Pentair Environmental Manager and site EHS Leader to execute regulatory compliance assessments.
Partner with Pentair Environmental Manager and site EHS Leader to design environmental control equipment and processes required to meet or exceed regulatory requirements (air, water and waste recycling).
Accurately assess campus risk and develop/deploy effective solutions to mitigate EHS risk to business, employees and the community. Works with facility leaders on hazard identification, evaluation and control and appropriate risk assessment and risk mitigation and escalates issues as appropriate to Regional or Enterprise EHS team.
Identify and implement prior injury and significant event solutions at facilities with similar opportunities to prevent recurrence. Candidate will have proven history of injury reduction results using root cause, countermeasure methodology.
Design and facilitate Industrial Hygiene sampling plans for Ashland facility.
Develop and effectively deploy EHS Training to Ashland facility. Training will be specific to local regulatory requirements and site risk assessments but will be created in alignment with Enterprise standards.
Work with Pentair Environmental Manager to facilitate Ashland sustainability program including Sustainability Treasure Hunt and ZeroWaste activities and appropriate solutions.
Partner with Pentair Sustainability Council to drive excellence in sustainability through Ashland, and the Enterprise EHS team to benchmark best practices in internal and external EHS programs.
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Environmental Engineering or Occupational Safety.
3+ years experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment (air and industrial hygiene); foundry experience is a plus.
Must be skilled in US, Ohio and local EHS regulations.
