The DAS Sales Engineer provides basic pre-sales technical engineering support including sales presentations, product demonstrations, and solution development to maximize revenue, earnings and customer satisfaction. The Sales Engineer also provides a single point of reference with regard to the technical design and specifications for the life of the project, and provides a smooth transition from the sales process into the installation and maintenance phases. Demonstrates products and service value to customers based on customer needs.

Consult with clients and internal account managers to develop and design integrated solutions from channel partner manufacturers, or other sources. Act as a key point of reference with regard to the technical project design and specifications.
Provide expert and reliable consultation services relating to product or project implementations, configurations, upgrades, and migrations.
May deliver, or assist with, customer presentations and/or technical demonstrations on core products/services, advanced applications, and emerging technologies.
Assist sales force by providing: design and pricing specifications, network drawings, and materials list. Contributes to the effective closing of large sales opportunities. May contribute to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs).
Ensure technical feasibility and accuracy of each proposed solution within cost guidelines of the project. Provide solution development to maximize reliability/functionality of the proposed offering.
Good understanding of WLAN requirements is a plus
Interact with product managers or vendors as necessary to support product improvements (ie compatibility), innovations, and emerging technologies.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate technical concepts in a non-technical manner to all levels of client organizations. Able to establish credibility and trust with customers
Ability to manage ambiguity and complexity well, easily rank priorities and solve issues and problems in a fast-paced environment
Working knowledge of multiple network and communication integration platforms
Must be able to work cohesively with other Black Box departments
Perform other duties as assigned.



Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent, relevant experience.
Advanced or Master's degree preferred.
5+ years of experience in technical/engineering positions in the RF/Wireless industry, and must possess a deep technical knowledge of the sector.
Understanding of service provider requirements (Verizon, ATT, Sprint, TMO) a plus.
RF System Engineering Experience preferred:
Coaxial and fiber based DAS design.
11 RF designs.
Integration of passive and active devices including RF to fiber conversion, Bi-Directional Amplifiers.
Complete understanding of passive component specifications such as power dividers, couplers, duplexers, filters, and RF combining networks.
Experience with RF prediction tools (iBwave)
Ability to solve complex technical problems relating to Noise Figure (NF), dynamic range, Passive Inter-Modulation (PIM), isolation, and system loss/gain.
Firm understanding of wireless technologies (LTE/UMTS/CDMA/GSM) and performing link budget analysis.

Preferred experience in design/deployment engineering responsibilities involving complex client requirements assessment, solutions design and implementation within the technology services industry.
Broad networking and technology skills, including strong knowledge and proficiency in industry-standard networking technologies and infrastructures including cabling, LAN, WAN, and various telecommunication access methods as well as legacy networking technologies and system interdependencies.

DAS OEM certifications preferred

Ability to clearly articulate design concepts and solutions to customers
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to travel 25% of the time.
End-to-end process thinker, with proven experience in business processes and workflow design.
Excellent problem solving and systems analysis skills with demonstrated success in root cause analysis, effectiveness measurements and related documentation.
Demonstrated experience of continuously expanding and leveraging knowledge of technology, market and industry trends with success in identifying, recommending and implementing best practices and methodologies.
Ability to work effectively across all functional groups to optimize product & service offerings, fostering a seamless internal and external client experience and track record of timely and accurate issue resolution.
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Outlook, SharePoint, ERP, AutoCAD, service delivery management tools such as ServiceNow and related cloud based technology systems.
