The EHS & Facilities Site Leader is responsible for the overall EHS strategy development and deployment for the Columbus operations. In addition, this role will serve as the lead for facility maintenance, repairs, and project management pertaining to building, building grounds, and related systems/equipment.
Manages the OSHA and safety regulations within the plant
Drives improvement and track goal(s) achievement through collection, analysis, and communication of EHS and KPI data
Develops, implements, and champions a culture of safety via toolbox talks, daily production meetings, and management reviews
Assists management in preparing EHS presentations
Keeps informed on current environmental, health and safety regulations and legislation and recommend policy changes
Developswritten safety programs, guidelines, policies, etc.
Develops and conducts/coordinates EHS trainings
Maintains files and records pertaining to environmental, safety and industrial hygiene
Maintains site environmental reports and permits
Leads accident/incident investigations and corrective actions
Conducts EHS tours/audits of all plant areas and make recommendations for corrective actions for all environmental, safety and health problems noted
Reviews the installation and modification of all equipment/processes for EHS issues
Conducts new hire EHS orientations
Develops training programs focusing on the specific needs of a project
Coordinates and supports facility and equipment maintenance and service
Participate in the design phase of continuous improvement, operation, and CAPEX projects
Bachelor's Degree in environmental, Health and Safety or related field. Experience may be substituted for degree. A minimum of 5 years of experience in Occupational Health & Safety preferred.
Technical expertise in EHS leadership; plant level experience is preferred
Ability to translate regulatory requirements into policies and procedures
Proven leadership skills and the ability to make good decisions
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Solid strategic and analytical skills
Experience managing the OSHA regulations within the plant
Ability to work independently to drive results
Flexibility to come in on off shifts and weekends as needed to conduct training, accident investigations, etc.
