The Process Engineer is responsible for coordinating the molding efforts on new program launches, setting up and/or revising manufacturing processes and assisting the manufacturing operations in problem solving and continuous process improvements. This position is responsible for leading the efforts to reduce costs, improve efficiencies, reduce quality issues and standardize processes. The position will lead industrialization efforts, new product mold trials, machine/mold design run-offs, and hands-on productivity initiatives. This position will be responsible for optimizing injection molding and robot processes, developing standard operating procedures and process specification as well as supporting quality and safety initiatives.


Lead process development and industrialization of new product for injection molded components

Establish new equipment processing parameters, create new equipment processing specifications, and support procurement and set up

Establish statistical quality control capabilities and process adjustments

Optimize process parameters (i.e. pressures, heats, and tonnage, and injection speed)

Partnering with other engineers to develop automation with the injection processes

Identify and manage capital upgrades within the injection tooling and injection equipment

Develop and implement plans to reduce scrap and improve cycle efficiency

Troubleshoots processes within parameters to ensure injected parts meet product specifications

Create maintenance plan for equipment and tooling

Performs root cause analysis on any process changes implemented

Make suggestions and implement methods to improve cycle time or other efficiency measures


Minimum of 8+ years of hands on Injection molding processing experience with increasing levels of responsibility

Ability to author manufacturing process instructions

Strong analytical and creative thinking skills for effective decision-making

Master molder or similar training/certification a plus

Familiar with reading technical schematics and drawings

Strong interpersonal and communication skills - able to communicate effectively to all levels

Keen understanding of injection molding processes and the use of machinery to produce a quality product in a manufacturing environment


Knowledge of injection molding and assembly machines, molds and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance, specifically Cincinnati Milacron equipment

Electrical and mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability desired

DOEs and Scientific Molding process experience is a plus

Ability to plan and organize, facilitate change, initiate action, communicate effectively, problem solve, and maintain quality and customer focus

Statistical Process Control background is a plus
