About the Position

Join our small but growing team of talent acquisition recruiters tasked with creating impact, innovation and inclusion across campus through our hiring efforts.

The University of Cincinnati has an exciting opportunity for a Recruiter in the central Human Resources department. Reporting to the Manager of Talent Acquisition and Retention, the successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the University is hiring the best possible talent utilizing a variety of means such as developing local and national recruiting plans, employing traditional sourcing strategies as well as developing new and creative recruiting tactics.

Job Overview

The Recruiter will work with assigned areas to determine organization needs and act as a talent advisor providing direction on the most effective venues to source applicants for individual positions. We are looking for someone who can help us maximize our social media usage to generate excitement around UC initiatives to attract top talent. Additionally, this role will source and screen applicants, as well as conduct interviews and reference checks as appropriate.

Essential Functions

Work with hiring managers and HR Business Partners on identifying critical organizational needs for recruitment.
Develop and execute recruiting plans that ensure a qualified and diverse group of candidates.
Promote diversity throughout the university.
Post openings through various media channels, with professional organizations, and in other position-appropriate venues.
Conduct sourcing and lead generation activities, including networking through industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups, and employees.
Screen candidates as appropriate, conducting phone screens, assisting with references, assessments, and other employment verifications.
Influence organizational attractiveness by recommending new policies and practices, monitoring job offers and compensation practices, and emphasizing benefits and total rewards.
Update job knowledge by participating in education opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and actively participating in professional organizations.
Must maintain confidentiality with high level of integrity.
Responsible for accurate and timely storage of HR-related documents in accordance with UC's Records Retention Schedule.

Required Education

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field.
Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

One (1) year of related experience.

Experience with full life cycle recruiting with the ability to perform all aspects of recruitment.
Previous experience building strong relationships and providing top-notch customer service.
Adaptable recruiting style in order to meet unique department needs.
Organized multi-tasker in handling competing demands and changing priorities.
Solid problem-solving capabilities with strong influencing and negotiation skills.
Outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
Proficient computer skills, including advanced experience with Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams).
Self-motivation and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with our team and customers.
Thorough knowledge of recruitment laws and practices with classified and/or union experience a plus.
