The New Business Development Representative is responsible for engaging with prospective customers, establishing a quick, valued and trusted relationship providing product solutions and pricing based on the information gathered to secure new business from prospective customers. The position requires independent judgement, knowledge of Univar Solutions services and product offerings and strong relationships through the organization to provide solutions leading to the closure of new customers.
Execute sales calls via phone, email or video chat to close initial transaction through proactive engagement and follow up presenting value proposition and negotiating pricing based on the business needs of the prospective customer to meeting monthly sales quota of new customer and CM$
Collaborate across Univar Solutions with departments including Product Management, Purchasing, Customer Solutions, and Technical Resources ensuring white glove onboarding experiencing establishing confidence in Univar Solutions.
Education prospective customer on process leading to the delivery of the first order.
Facilitate handoff process educating Account Management team of interactions and learnings propelling future growth at the new customer
Document all sales interactions in Salesforce.com, including activities, opportunity and consumption entry as well contact and related data.
Performs other related duties as required or requested.
Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of sales in B2B environment
Strong inter-personal and communication skills and the ability to develop strong, successful business relationships with customers as well as internal teammates.
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Suite as well as CRM platforms such as Salesforce.com
Ability to manage time and resources effectively in order to achieve goals.
Strong business acumen, including an understanding of the business relationship between manufacturers, distributors and end-users of chemical products and services.
Well-honed listening skills and a problem-solving attitude to uncover needs and motivations to overcome objections in order provide the services and/or products that best fit the customer's needs.
Effective negotiation skills that allow Univar Solutions to realize appropriate value for products and services, while building commitment and trust with the customer.
Personal Care experience a plus
