The Oracle Applications Developer Professional Apprentice serves as a liaison between IT and business clients. Works with the customer to conduct business process modeling and perform coding within Oracle, analyze system requirements, and work on code changes for any new projects or change requests to existing software. Collaborates with functional team to ensure they understand the specifications, document system scenarios, and to help develop a change management/training plan.
Strategy & Planning
Analyze, document, and recommend improvements to existing workflows, processes, and standards.
Acquisition & Deployment
Assist in gathering requirements, analyzes and performs coding, creates design documents, and performs impact analysis for application changes.
Review the defects, perform code changes as required and work on the enhancements by coordinating with the functional team.
Create and maintain system documentation.
Work with existing systems to track and manage production issues.
Track client issues and problems, and work with others when necessary to provide a resolution.
Support data needs of the business by daily support of one or more Global ERP sub-systems and integrated applications.
Assist with projects as may be required to contribute to efficiency and effectiveness of the work.
Minimal travel if required.
Work outside the standard office 7.5 hour workday may be required.
Formal Education & Certification
Currently enrolled in college degree program and actively working toward a Bachelor or Master Degree in related field.
Graduation date on or after May 2023.
GPA of 2.7 or higher.
Knowledge & Experience
Basic IT knowledge and aptitude to gain technical skills quickly.
Knowledge of software development and support methodologies.
Knowledge and/or experience in Object Oriented Programming using languages such as Python, Oracle, .NET, or Java.
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite Applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.
Any and/or combination of the following skills helpful, but not required:
Project management tools to control software development phases (MS Project, etc.).
Prior experience in coding and software fitment/solutions.
Familiarity with SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle Mobile Application Developer, Oracle Cloud or Oracle Apex.
Competent in written and oral communication skills.
Ability and initiative to learn and research new concepts, ideas, and technologies quickly.
Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future.
