Responsibilities:

Determines structural database requirements by analyzing product requirements, applications, and programming, reviewing objectives with team members, and evaluating current systems.

Enhances database performance by identifying and resolving production and application development problems; calculating optimum values for parameters, evaluating, integrating, and installing new releases; completing maintenance, answering user questions.

Analyze and optimize existing Data Models/Queries, improving performance and maintainability of existing Relational Databases.

Develops database solutions by defining physical database structure and functional capabilities, security, back-up, and recovery specifications.

Installs database systems by developing flowcharts, applying optimum access techniques, coordinating installation actions, and document actions.

Accomplishes information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

Attributes/Skills:

Expert on Relational Database Knowledge (SQL/Postgres etc.)

Experience with Data Federation Techniques.

Significant experience running large Relational Databases at scale

Experience with coding in C# or VB

Experience designing and optimizing Enterprise Data Models

Database Query Performance and Optimization techniques

Database/Data Security

Database Management and Monitoring

Proficient knowledge of Cloud Computing Services like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc., and infrastructure is required.

Establish data modeling, naming standards, abbreviations, guidelines, and best practices.

The ability to work effectively in a team environment is required.

Data Warehousing Design (Redshift/Other)

NoSQL Database Design (MongoDB/DynamoDB etc.)

Must be able to comprehend and communicate effectively with management, other engineers, and internal and external customers.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex technical documents, diagrams, data models, and process documents.

Must be able to demonstrate an ability to learn quickly and meet high expectations.

Customer-focused with excellent follow through on commitments.

Mentor for Database testing tools, techniques, processes, and practices.

Problem-solving skills.

Must be self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Experience/Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field is required. Masters degree preferred.

Working experience as a senior data architect will be considered in place of a degree.

A minimum of 10 years of experience working in software development environments is required.

Business knowledge of the construction industry is highly desirable.
