Job Description:
The position of Quality Technician is responsible for product inspections ensuring quality products are being produced according to product specifications; including all set-ups, in process production and investigations of non-conforming product. This position will partner with a variety of support resources to investigate and resolve problems and disposition of material.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for overall product inspections in a timely and accurate manner ensuring quality products are being produced.
Responsible for assisting in product trouble-shooting to ensure production schedule is attained.
Promote safety and ensure a safe work environment and safe work habits.
Responsible for workplace organization (5S) daily.
Comply with and support all company policies & procedures.
Assist in on the job training regarding quality issues, product specifications, quality processes and measurement tools.
Support Incoming Quality Control as a back-up/special inspection support and gage calibration activities as needed.
Support RMA processing as needed.
Active involvement in process audits to support ISO system.
Support finished goods/dock audits as needed.
Support Supervisor on any quality or process investigations throughout the shift.
Ensure smooth and informative shift changes; both by interfacing with counterparts on other shifts, and passing on all critical information.
Responsible, as needed, to support quality coverage on all shifts to ensure proper overlap of production support.
Demonstrates Pentair's "Win Right" culture when interacting with customers, co-workers and suppliers.
Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or GED required.
3 + years production experience preferred.
Must be able to operate powered industrial equipment.

Technical Ability:

Must have math aptitude and ability to grasp concepts of mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions).
Ability to accurately make precision measurements using hand measurement and calibration tools (calipers, pi tapes, pin gages).
Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings.
Computer proficiency to enter data, complete reports, communicate information, and retrieve data.

Physical Demands:

Position requires continuous walking and standing. Some sitting, stooping, bending, and kneeling is necessary. Lifting from 20-70 pounds may be required on an infrequent basis.

Equipment & Tools Used:

A broad variety of equipment and tools are employed in this plant. This position should be familiar with all equipment & tools in the assigned area of responsibility.
