Smiths Medical is currently hiring aTooling Technician II - 3rd Shiftin Dublin, OH.

TheTooling Technician IIwill maintain and manufacture plastic injection mold tooling for molding and automation procession equipment. This role is third shift, with working hours of 10:30pm-7am Sunday-Thursday.

                                    Duties & Responsibilities


Disassemble and Assemble molds as needed per production schedule.

Assemble and disassemble molds including internal componentry.

Cleans components and mold bases using various solvents and cleaning techniques.

Machines simple parts to basic tolerance levels.

Maintains appropriate documentation.

Maintains a neat and orderly work area to ensure efficiency and safety. Ensures all safety procedures are followed.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Meets all quality, quantity, and good manufacturing practices to satisfy customer and regulatory requirements.

Maintenance of tooling for all repairs, upkeep, and preventative maintenance.

This position is required to assure compliance of Company operations to all applicable laws, regulations and standards, good business practices and company documented procedures (including knowledge of all standards, government occupational health and environmental regulations and statutes related to the site).

Engage others, promote, and participate in Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives, focusing on continuous improvement.

High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Must be computer literate and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Possess good hand/eye coordination.

Basic mechanical skills/ability.

Have knowledge and experience in use of small tools and equipment.

Experience using lathes, mills, surface grinders, and other types of equipment beneficial but not required.

Basic knowledge of plastic molding tooling is preferred.

Ability to lift heavy objects.

Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Must have ability to read and understand blueprints of molds and molded parts.

Ability to plan daily activities to coincide with plant production requirements.
