Title: RN Patient Safety Coordinator
Location: UC Health Business Center @ 3200 Burnet Avenue
Department: Patient Safety
Hours: 40 per week
Shift: AM

Primary Purpose: Under the supervision of the Director of Quality and Performance Excellence, Coordinator of Patient Safety coordinates the organizational effort to assure continuous compliance with Joint Commission standards and CMS Regulations. Organizes and implements an effective Patient Safety program and facilitates efforts to achieve overall excellence in patient safety. The Patient Safety Coordinator collaborates with key individuals within the practice to optimize the patient safety culture across the system.

Knowledge and Skills:

Education : Registered Nurse required. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.

Years of Experience : Five years clinical experience preferable in multiple areas plus 2 years of line or project management experience. Clinical data analysis experience in a hospital/health care setting preferred. Formal training or experience in regulatory compliance and patient safety.

Required Skills and Knowledge : Knowledge of hospital regulatory and accreditation requirements. Knowledge and application of wide variety of advanced performance improvement tools and methods. Strong verbal and written presentation skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work with a variety of disciplines and levels of staff across the organization.

Licenses and Certifications: Registered nurse required. List any certifications and licenses required to perform this position.
