This position is responsible for the creation and maintenance of products in the store’s product database and will act as a primary point person for questions and issues regarding products for internal customers.
This position works closely with the merchandise control and purchasing teams, ensuring that updates to product data for both internal and external products are applied correctly. This position also has contact with store personnel, helping to resolve store issues with products. Additionally, this position collaborates with IT to test new enhancements to the Oracle database and make suggestions of additional enhancements to streamline the new product add process. Various other business partners that this position works with include product planning, accounting, inventory, billing, AP, and outside vendors.
The breakdown of major job duties is as follows:
Review of new product additions in the database (approximately 30%)
Maintenance of products (approximately 20%)
Fielding questions/calls about products and product administration processes (approximately 40%)
Ad hoc requests, enhancement testing, and monthly reporting (approximately 10%)
Note: Must be availability to work 15 to 20 hours a week throughout the school year with flexibility for exams and school projects.
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting or Finance with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Strong attention to detail
Strong math skills
Basic understanding of accounting and finance
Ability to operate a personal computer and communicate via the telephone
Customer service focus
Experience in a customer service or retail setting
Working knowledge and experience in lean and continuous improvement
Familiarity with paint, floorcovering and other sundry products
