Location: UC Health Business Center

Hours: 40 per week - Hybrid: remote & onsite

Primary Purpose: Facilitate the review and negotiation of clinical and basic research as applicable; to develop, negotiate and coordinate budgets in accordance with UC/UC Health policy and federal laws and regulations; to advise, support, guide and provide consultation to faculty, physicians and department administrators on specific contract provisions, budget activities and financial management of industry and sponsored research clinical trials and other potential research related business activities to achieve agreements and budgets for success in accordance with metrics; to support business development opportunities in clinical trials.

Required Skills and Knowledge

Required: Working knowledge of research/medical billing and coding practices. Extensive knowledge of industry contracts, budget development and negotiations. Extensive knowledge of clinical trials processes strongly desired.

Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Strong analytical and mathematical skills, attention to detail, problem solving and organizational skills. Advanced proficiency in computer software (Microsoft Office).

Ability to interact effectively with pharmaceutical companies and clinical research organizations, and to work collaboratively with university departments. Demonstrate diplomacy, tact and professional demeanor.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or Law

Years of Experience: 2-4 years business operations experience, preferably in a healthcare, pharmaceutical industry or academic environment.
