Job Overview

The College of Nursing at the University of Cincinnati is seeking a collaborative proven professional to join our graduate program team in serving as a Program Coordinator (Clinical Site Coordinator). The chosen candidate will serve as the primary liaison with clinical preceptors, clinical site administration, and students currently enrolled in our graduate nursing program.  The Program Coordinator facilitates placement of graduate nursing students in clinical sites and the vetting of clinical site contracts (as warranted).  Other responsibilities include establishing and maintaining clinical affiliation agreements and managing documentation associated with the precepted clinical experience. The graduate program works collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, preceptors and clinical sites to achieve set goals. The ideal candidate must be a valuable contributor to the team, be able to work independently, solve problems and pay attention to detail.

Essential Functions

Design/create and conduct seminars, classes, workshops or programs.
Develop program objectives and monitor quantitative and qualitative data on progress toward objectives. Review objectives to identify problems and solutions, prioritize solutions and develop action steps for program improvement.
Provide financial administrative support for program initiatives.
Develop, administer and analyze assessment/evaluation questionnaires. Compile statistics and prepare reports.
Develop and implement marketing strategies to recruit students and program participants.
Interact with staff faculty, external agencies and other university departments.
May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.

Required Education

Bachelor's Degree.
Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

One (1) year of program coordination experience.

Additional Qualifications Considered

Prefer experience in higher education as it relates to student clinical placement.
Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Etc.).
Experience with using Smartsheet.
Ability to use multiple databases as it relates to documentation and collaboration agreements.
Detail-oriented, able to develop and maintain highly organized work environment, and able to effectively prioritize.
Demonstrated capabilities in making solid business decisions, problem-solving, and multi-tasking in a highly dynamic and fast paced business environment.
Proven ability to exercise high degree of confidentiality and objectivity.
Proven ability to set priorities and work independently with little or no supervision.
Record of creative and innovative problem-solving ability.
Demonstrated commitment to excellence and the ability to communicate with faculty, staff, students and other stakeholders at all levels in the organization in a professional, approachable, and positive manner.
Possess strong communication skills both written and verbal.
Ideally one year of clinical coordination experience is preferred.
Assist with special projects as needed.
