Job Description

Architects, State Auto Property & Casualty Insurance Company, Columbus, OH. Design and maintain current baseline and target application and services architecture. Assess impact of future business architecture on existing and future applications. Capture requirements for future application architecture changes and identify techniques and technologies that should be applied at the application level. Help define system and operational requirements the computing infrastructure must support. Identify, analyze, and address any inter-application dependencies and interfaces. Determine appropriate application partitioning to achieve performance and scalability requirements. Develop solution architecture at enterprise/project level. Understand both technical and functional design and bring perspective from all architecture domains (integration, application, infrastructure, data, and security) into solution design. Own the development, maintenance and integrity of solution architecture encompassing enterprise business capabilities enabled by enterprise application landscape. Develop and maintain project-specific architecture by providing strategic expertise into definition of target or solution architecture, architecture reviews, and selection efforts. Own integration scenarios between major process areas. Create, monitor, and control solution architectures, ensuring alignment to organizational architecture standards, quality and principles. Ensure common solutions services are leveraged while meeting the financial targets (cost and benefits). Provide subject matter expertise to design, develop, assess, and implement complex architecture solutions within the architecture disciplines. Assist in developing and championing enterprise architecture strategy, architecture artifacts, and long-term solution plans. Assist defining architecture and technology opportunities of the organization based on new and emerging technologies. Independently establish priorities and strategies. Requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, management information systems, computer information systems, or related field plus 60 months of experience in the development, support, analysis, and architectural design of advanced systems. Also requires ability to identify and recommend areas appropriate for further study and participate in Proof of Concept projects to thoroughly investigate architectural possibilities and strengthen arguments for adoption; ability to develop and maintain contextual architectural planning and current state systems diagrams that accurately capture systems and data-flow representations; ability to design and develop excellent technical or IT workflow solutions in area of expertise; and demonstrated proficiency with Mule integration platform, firewall, multi-factor authentication, Load Balancer, and Architect IaaS, IaaS+, and PaaS Hybrid.
