Position Summary:
The eBusiness Director, Online Merchandising and Site Content is responsible for .com content & online merchandising strategy, optimization, execution, and performance for Sherwin-Williams’ TAG website.

The ideal candidate is an expert in eCommerce, online merchandising, and online customer experience and will lead teams to optimize the customer’s discovery and selection of products on Sherwin-Williams .com and our Mobile Apps.

In this role, s/he  is deeply engaged in the business and is accountable for optimizing the online customer experience and maximizing ecommerce sales through developing and implementing plans, executing flawlessly all product, promotional, marketing and content launches across our sites and apps that support our business strategies and ultimately creating a superior online customer experience.

This leadership role will build an engaged and highly functional teams and partnerships to streamline, simplify and automate processes and ways of working.

This leader will lead a team of web content managers and site merchandisers that thrive on results and are highly adaptable to react to business opportunities as needs change and opportunities arise. Her/his team will work in close partnership with IT, Creative, User Experience, Marketing and Marcomm, Product Information Management, IT, Pricing, Customer Service, and others across the organization.

This ideal candidate is data driven, highly analytical, organized and possesses great communication and presentation skills. S/he is also a fearless change agent who can drive strategy in a complex environment and serve as the face of the website for customers across the business, while providing steady, uplifting team leadership.
 Core Responsibilities:

OVERALL

Develop and propose web content and merchandising strategies that increase online sales opportunities and integrated rich online customer experiences.
Lead the teams to ensure a seamless, inspirational experience that delivers optimal product/non-product content to maximize online sales and experience for each customer type through best in class, data driven content and merchandising techniques.
Leads a team to achieve business results and KPIs by optimizing the customers’ online browsing and shopping journeys across all devices and experiences.
Play leading role the eBusiness leadership team, contributing to digital strategy, ensuring clear communication of priorities, inspiring continual innovation, and modeling leadership at all times
Provide leadership over the strategic direction of a set/domain of initiatives, including roadmap, annual & quarterly planning, and the communication of the plan to greater team /senior leadership.
Work with executive stakeholders across business, technology and creative, to balance competing interests and needs across the organization to arrive at a clear vision, communicating effectively and aligning various partners along the way.
Lead at the strategic level, but also the day-to-day by deeply understanding our customers, our business, our products, and technical domains.

CONTENT

Play leading role in executing pro and diy website redesigns
Oversee site search strategy and execution
Lead SEO strategy, execution, platform and optimization for content at a national and local level to maximize target keywords. Work in close collaboration with IT team leading technical SEO to ensure site is optimized for content performance. Partner with SEM team.
Manage and maintain day-to-day web content supporting /prioritizing business needs
Build, maintain, and oversee .com content, governance, processes, and ways of working
Ensure .com design, page templates and content guidelines are accessible and leveraged
Ensure .com assets are consistent company’s brand, style and voice
Integrate .com as part of the overall digital ecosystem, creating connected experience between campaigns and .com/apps
Serve as strategic advisor by providing/sharing web content and SEO best practices 
Define and implement .com content based on customer journeys and persona-based research
Collaborate with Global Brand & Digital Marketing leader/peers to ensure cohesive messaging and tactics across multiple platforms
Leverage tech stack to enable content publishing, web optimization, AB testing, SEO/SEM and ratings and reviews

ONLINE MERCHANDISING

Continually improve customer experience in how we message and merchandise our customers
Represent online sales channel in strategic planning for marketing and product launches
Partner with teams to execute highest conversion elements throughout the shopping path.
Ensure flawless execution of site content, promotions, messaging and holiday/seasonal launches.
Develop/Execute online personalization strategies to align with omni-channel/endless aisle strategy.
Evaluate dedicated merchandising team structure for core areas of the business, accountable for maximizing category sales through monitoring of sales, KPIs, and the online CX.
Identify and lead process and system improvements to ensure the most efficient workflows.

MEASURE

Work with analytics team to develop, measure against, and action on merchandise and content KPIs
Communicate results to executive leadership as required

TEAM

Lead and develop a team of 5-10 web content developers, seo experts and online merchandisers to achieve KPIs by optimizing customers’ shopping journey across devices and experiences.
Create an engaging and collaborative culture with own team and cross functional partners
Enable and drive a culture of testing
Focus on vision and outcomes; Let others make decisions without traditional hierarchical approval.
Empower the teams by removing obstacles.

PARTERSHIPS

Drive cross functional collaboration between with Marketing, Marcom, CRUX, Digital Product Managements, IT teams, business stakeholders/SMEs, product information management teams and outside partners to ensure we’re delivering great shopping experiences and outcomes
Collaborate and work effectively across functions while aligning on goals and objectives.
Partner to inform strategy so that all campaigns and launches fully leverage the digital channel.

Position Requirements
EDUCATION

Required: Bachelor’s Degree

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

Required:

7-10 years of experience rising through the ranks of Customer Experience, Digital, eCommerce, Online Merchandising, Web Content
Strong strategic leadership skills in both web content and online merchandising that increased have eCommerce sales/created rich online customer experiences
5-8 years leading teams in a fast paced, digital environment
Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross functionally at many levels; Skilled at gaining alignment.
Strong operational leadership skills, i.e., ability to drive decisions, move work forward, align with stakeholders, build/maintain processes & ways of working and ensure high quality deliverables
Strong customer focus, rich content driven and with merchandising instincts
Strong ability to collaborate and communicate in efficient compelling manner
SEO, Site Search, Navigation and Taxonomy knowledge and experience
Proven analytical skills for measuring results
Had had ultimate accountability for desired outcomes
Entrepreneurial and energetic leadership skills
Self-starter who can deliver with minimal supervision
Ability to think creatively, strategically, and technically
Experience attracting, retaining, engaging, and developing talent across experience levels.
Demonstrated track record in evaluating, selecting, and managing partners (and budget) for relevant marketing technologies and service providers
Ability to travel 10-15% of the time and relocation assistance is available.

Preferred:

Exposure to B2B and B2B ecommerce, building products industry, working with or within large Fortune 500 companies

TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Required:

Leading experience with site analytics, CMS (AEM), personalization tools, AB testing tools, Ratings and Reviews, SEO
Exceptional verbal and written communication and project/program leadership skills, especially executive-level communication about strategic customer experience direction. 
Practice open and continuous communication, values keeping others informed, effectively presenting information in a clear, concise manner
Demonstrated experience in product data
Ability to synthesize multiple sources of input (data, business stakeholders, client research, design) and arrive at high quality decisions.
Knowledge of MS Office

Preferred:

Knowledge of Stibo Step Platform, HCL Commerce, Syndigo, GA360, Domo, Tableau
Managing agency and vendor relationships and budgets
Retail experience a plus
