A Human Resources Generalist implements human resources processes and programs and provides professional services to all associates in a fair and equal manner to meet the needs of the facility.
Responsibilities / Authority:
Employee relations (e.g. counseling, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, etc.)
Staffing activities such as:
Recruiting, job postings, selection process, orientations, terminations, and retirements
Receive, record, and process daily call-off information
Lead daily meetings with staffing agencies and Supervisors to meet the needs of each department
Relay information regarding layoffs or recalls to affected associates as needed
Time and attendance, and/or other related approvals using the appropriate software (e.g. Kronos, Workday)
Manage and/or lead employee engagement activities (e.g. community outreach, fundraisers, focus groups)
Training management (i.e. verify ISO training and document retention for internal/external audits)
Manage AA/EEO, unemployment, benefits, and workers compensation
Process, file, and maintain employment records according to MTD, federal, state, and local regulations
Participate in, and/or lead, rapid improvement events as needed
Promote MTD health and safety awareness, policies, and regulations
Update job knowledge through continuous education, seminars, or other related programs
Attend department, hourly, and salaried meetings as required
Actively participate in the MTD Organizational Excellence (MOE) program
Other departmental tasks as assigned by the Director or designee
Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 3 - 5 years' experience in Human Resources
Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
Outstanding employee relations skills with a strong customer focus
Detail oriented with organizational and time management skills
Proven experience with project development and management through successful completion
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and the ability to conduct meetings or presentations
Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of the facility
Advanced technology skills, such as MS Office, Workday, and Kronos
