Home Care Aide

Full-Time and Part-Time, 1st Shift, Monday-Friday
Salary: $10.00-$11.00 an hour 

SUMMARY:
The Home Care Aide provides in home support services under the supervision of professional staff, assists clients
and family in the achievement of maintaining client independence and safety at home, renders services in strict
accordance with the written plan of care including but not limited to the services described below.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
1. High School Diploma, GED or one year of home care experience.
2. Successful completion of the written competency exam and skills demonstration evaluation required for home
care aide certification by the Company
3. Able to interpret oral and written instructions effectively
4. Effective communication skills
5. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to and communicate primarily with the elderly
population
6. Able to assess data reflecting the client’s requirements

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION:
Must complete a written competency exam and skills demonstration
Must maintain standards (such as OSHA compliance, TB testing)
Must possess and provide valid driver’s license

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
May include but are not limited to the following:
1. Provides personal care services as required by the care plan, including:
A. Maintaining a clean, safe and healthy environment
B. Bed, sponge, tub, shower bathing
C. Sink, tub or shower shampooing
D. Caring for skin and nails
E. Oral hygiene
F. Assistance with toileting and elimination
2. Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics to the performance of specific techniques of personal
and supportive care such as ambulation, transferring, positioning and household chores.
3. Abel to prepare and provide adequate nutrition and fluid intake.
4. Performs homemaking and other environmental services that ensure sanitary and safe care in the client’s
home.
5. Observes, reports and documents changes in client status or expectations of services promptly to the nurse or
Service Coordinator.
6. Communicates effectively with the Field Supervisor and administrative staff to provide the best quality of care
possible to clients
