Job Description

Riverside Research, an independent, not-for-profit organization chartered to advance scientific research, has an immediate opening for an intern in its Plasma Research Program. Riverside Research's Plasma Program performs experimental and computational research in topics such as ionospheric physics, plasma-based metamaterials, plasma turbulence, electromagnetic wave phenomenology and interaction, and space-weather physics.

All positions at Riverside Research require US Citizenship.

A successful candidate will be expected to:

* Support in the design, development, and execution of laboratory experiments in the field of plasma physics.
* Build, characterize, and test diagnostics to be employed in experiment.
* Aid in the characterization of our large volume plasma source.
* Other duties as assigned

Required qualifications:

* Working toward or have a Bachelor's degree in Physics, Engineering, or related field.
* Must be able to work independently and with a team.
* Superior communications skills, written and verbal.

Desired qualifications:

* Experience with plasmas, optics, or RF systems.
* Experience with control systems for scientific instrumentation
* Experience with high vacuum and ultra-high vacuum equipment
* Experience working in a laboratory setting
* Experience with imaging systems for scientific instrumentation
* Experience with MatLab and Labview.
