Position and Responsibilities

As a Process Piping Drafter within the Middough Piping department, you will apply standard drafting techniques to generate and interpret drawings in support of assigned projects.  In this position, you will have opportunities to collaborate on team projects within the Chemical, Energy, Manufacture, Metals (Steel Making) and Refining industries. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

 Generate piping and equipment models using Autodesk Plant3D, Inventor, Revit, SolidWorks, and MicroStation technology for assigned projects.

 Generate CAD drawings (orthographic, plans & sections, and isometrics) to support Middough Designers.

 Interact with Middough colleagues, departments, and suppliers to obtain pertinent project information.

 Interact with the Middough Discipline Lead and project team members to complete project scope.

 Assist the project team with field observations, checking installations, and problem-solving activities as assigned.

Education, Experience and Skills

The successful candidate will possess the following:

 Associate of Applied Science or High School diploma with 2+ years of hands-on work experience.

 2+ years of drafting experience in the Chemical, Energy, Steel Making, and/or Refinery industry sectors a plus.

 Experience in and knowledge of standard drafting techniques.

 Basic hands-on work experience with 2-D CAD, 3-D CAD, AutoPlant, and BIM/Revit design programs.

 Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products within a business environment.

 Desire to learn Plant3D and other required software packages as needed.

 Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines, complete work thoroughly and accurately, and deliver high quality work with attention to detail.

 Strong verbal and written communication skills.

 Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and manage work flows efficiently based on instruction.

 Ability to understand the work in accordance with project budgets and schedules.

 May require occasional extended overnight car or air travel to other company locations or client sites.

 May be required to work overtime during the week, weekends and/or holidays based on workload and Client needs.

 Adhere to all Middough and Client’ provided safety protocols and trainings as required.
