Part Time 32 hours per week. Typical Schedule Monday - Friday between 8 - 4:30 pm, Benefits Eligible position
Location: 255 E Main Street, Columbus OH
The Patient Education Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating patient education materials for Nationwide Children's Hospital and its' subsidiaries following the principals of health literacy and clear health communication in conjunction with hospital's clinical experts. Responsibilities include project triage, document revision, layout design, tracking and intranet posting.

Nationwide Children's Hospital. A Place to Be Proud
Assesses, plans, and edits patient education materials consistent with the strategic priorities and philosophy of Nationwide Children's Hospital and developments in healthcare.
Assesses, plans, develops, and coordinates materials for the patient education program including but not limited to: Helping Hands, notebooks, booklets, videos, or other collateral. Coordinates the systematic review of patient education materials to ensure medical, psychological or pharmacological review and approval.
Serves as a consultant to health care providers in clear health communication, product design, implementation, and evaluation of patient education materials.
Evaluates patient education materials for merit and appropriateness for patients and families based on health literacy standards, readability, language level format/font, illustrations, and diversity in line with NCH patient education brand.
Maintains accurate computer database for educational materials in the content management system.
Responsible for triage of projects to patient education team and the maintenance of graphics file.
Posts and maintains current [patient education documents on the NCH intranet (ANCHOR)
Maintains and tracks database for co-branded materials.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
College Degree or Equivalent Experience required
Skills and Experience:
3 years' experience in program planning or project management.
Knowledge of health education principles, clear health communication and medical terminology.
Proficiency in MS Office.
Excellent oral and written communication.
Strong command of the English language, grammar and spelling.
Data analysis and analytical thinking.
Must have a valdi OH driver's license for travel as necessary
