Provide HR leadership and direct the overall strategic planning, management, administration, and ongoing evaluation of the Benefits, Wellness, and all Retirement Programs to include STRS, PERS and ARP. As a member of the HR Management Leadership Team, actively support discussions and transfer best practices from different functions within the organization and manage the HR-related internal and external communication.
Direct the development, implementation and administration of various employee benefit plans and programs. This includes wellness programs to meet the needs of the current workforce and the goals of the university focusing on the initiative to improve health and prevent diseases and disability.
Ensure compliance and monitor all state, federal and public sector benefit, and retirement compliance.
Create communications to a broad and varied UC population.
Maintain budget, prepare contracts, approve, and monitor expenditures, prepare budget requests and financial reports.
Participate in human resources policy and procedure development and implementation; recommend enhancements to existing operational procedures and processes.
Initiate and participate in cross-functional work teams to improve HR processes and programs.
Must maintain confidentiality with high level of integrity. Responsible for accurate and timely storage of HR-related documents in accordance with UC's Records Retention Schedule.
May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).

Seven (7) years of Human Resources experience
