System Administrator - Mac and Linux
The System Administrator - Mac and Linux will handle all aspects of the deployment and operation of macOS and Linux computers for the engineering research office.
Additional Responsibilities Include, but are not Limited To:
Provide users with technical support and assistance.
Manage user account information.
Install and configure new hardware and software.
Apply operating system and application updates, patches, and configuration changes.
Monitor system performance and respond to issues affecting operations and security.
Ensure compliance with operating instructions.
Document the configuration of the system.
Assist with the acquisition of new hardware and software.
Provide backup support for office Linux and Windows computers.
Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within systems administration.
Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals in a development and production environment.
Works under general supervision; typically reports to a manager.
A high degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Must adhere to security standards regarding For Official Use Only (FOUO) data, Personal Identifiable Information (PII) data, as well as DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) as software/db are developed and deployed.
Assist with proposal development, if necessary.
Perform other duties, as assigned.
Eight (8) plus years of experience in the field desired.
Bachelor's degree or greater in computer or information science or related field required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification.
Qualifications include one or more of the following certifications/experiences:
Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP)
Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
Experience in macOS or Linux computer administration.
Proficiency in computer programming.
Other Required Skills & Abilities:
Familiarity with the essentials of macOS support.
Excellent problem solving skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Must be able to effectively communicate with customer and fulfill all duties and responsibilities as listed in the contract.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite including, but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
Security Clearance: Secret security clearance required.
US Citizenship: This position supports a U.S. Government Contract whose terms require Sawdey Solution Services to staff it only with U.S. Citizens.
