The individuals that are in this classification may be required to perform the job duties in the Machine Shop 1 if qualified and Machine Shop 3 functions.

Physical Requirements:

One must be able to perform the following physical duties: twisting, turning, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling and manual dexterity.

You should:

Have earned your high school diploma or GED.
Have machining experience preferably including both lathe and grinding operations.
Be capable of reading and modifying in Mazatrol and EIA programming languages.
Pass testing requirements.
Have knowledge of basic machine shop math including some algebra and minor trigonometric functions.

Specialized Responsibilities:

Plan and perform a series of operations which include: operating various pieces of CNC (lathe and/or grinding) equipment simultaneously along with other tasks as required, which may include deburring, drilling and tapping, part assembly, grinding and polishing, etc.
Operate other equipment as necessary to maximize productivity and quality.
Write (preferred) and/or modify grinder and lathe programs including Mazatrol, EIA and others as required.
Perform setups which may include prototypes and first-time runs.
Work with manufacturing engineers to perform PPAP submittals and develop optimal setup sequences, tool packages and standard work setup data.
Make tool adjustments and replacements as necessary.
Produce quality parts to specification which may include deburring and cleaning parts.
Perform quality checks as required including first piece inspection.
Perform work productively according to established standard rates.
Keep area clean and orderly according to 5S standards.
Perform work in a safe manner using required PPE and guarding.
