The Data Governance Specialist is responsible for supporting the coordination and adoption of data governance across the enterprise under supervision of the Data Governance Team

What you will be doing

Participate in data governance projects and phase(s) of larger data governance efforts
Evaluate and assist with implementation of data policies and standards for data quality that ensures reliability and accessibility to support the mission and activities of the business
Maintaining the tools that support data standards, identifying data governance issues, and collaborates with management to find resolutions
Aids in establishing governance councils and working groups to ensure consistency and adoption of governance across data domains
Aids in establishing a data stewardship workflow and communication program with stakeholders for the remediation of data
Work closely with the business to develop data quality measures and practices to improve the line of business data and to protect the company's sensitive information
Review and define assessment of data quality controls to easily create or manage tools
Maintaining the tools that support data standards, identifying data governance issues, and collaborates with management to find resolutions
Comply with all corporate and departmental privacy and data security policies and practices, including but not limited to, Hyland's Information Systems Security Policy

What will make you successful

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Microsoft Office proficient
Strong oral and written communications skills that demonstrate a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with others with discretion and tact
Strong facilitation and project management skills
Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills
Strong ability to develop and use engaging informative and compelling presentation methodologies
Able to thrive in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
Strong ability to work independently and in a team environment
Strong attention to detail
Strong ability to summarize large quantities of information into actionable insight
