We have an opportunity for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our AMET team. In this role, the Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Machining will lead and drive the AMET vision of "better, faster, lower cost", by developing and leveraging manufacturing engineering expertise and technology in concert with lean to dramatically improve SQDCC performance and enhance operational capabilities at Pentair. As a core leader within the Machining Function, this person will be responsible for the development and deployment of advanced manufacturing engineering, technology, and lean practices throughout Pentair. This position will work closely with all levels of the organization to ensure that best practices and continuous improvement are a part of our culture. He/she will work with management, customers, vendors, associates and internal support organizations to drive change and lead efforts to boost effectiveness of manufacturing engineering and lean globally. Most importantly, be a leader in helping to work on some the biggest issues and challenges within the business.
Develop, evaluate, improve, and implement multiple manufacturing systems and processes utilizing sound manufacturing engineering fundamentals, lean, and technology.
Utilize expertise with manufacturing engineering (machining) to evaluate, improve, and deploy processes enhancing quality, throughput, and productivity.
Project management - ability to assess, plan, manage, and deliver projects of various size and scale.
Strong interface with design engineering community - for new product development and concurrent engineering of existing products and processes.
Capital equipment acquisition and implementation - including development of technical specifications, working with vendors, and develop in capital requirements.
Drive lean implementation efforts through event leadership and/or training.
Proven experience planning, leading, and facilitating effective kaizen events.
Promote and ensure lean practices and process technology utilization throughout company and external suppliers to improve quality, delivery, and cost.
Have earned at least a Bachelor's Degree (B.A.,B.S.) in Engineering, or other technical field (Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing related preferred).
Have 7+ years of successful experience with proven record of sustainable results.
Manufacturing engineering fundamentals - engineering drawing and specification interpretation, tool and fixture design, gauge design, GD&T, equipment design, and process documentation.
Significant experience in machining capacity analysis and tool selection.
Project planning and management skills.
Ability to support multiple projects and balance priorities through planning and execution.
Working Knowledge of CAD (AutoCAD, Pro-E, Solidworks, etc.) and CAM (MasterCAM, Gibbs, Esprit, etc.)
Hydraulic fixture design experience .
Strong coaching, facilitation and organizational skills.
Good written and oral communication.
Computer Skills (MS Office, MS Project, Visio, SAP).
Must be available to travel primarily domestic Americas and also occasional international. Travel approximately 30-60% but varies based on initiatives ongoing. Can be higher based on project and/or support needs within business as well as specific geographic position.
