Job Description


The ERP architect interprets and contextualize the business strategy and design and build end-to-end solutions across the Veritiv enterprise. They drive the product design, strategy and delivery in the Technology solutions team.

Key Accountabilities:

Primary Responsibilities:

Build roadmap of current and future IT and Business Capabilities
Gap analysis of existing and future systems to current and future business needs
Facilitate institutional and cross-functional meetings and communicate with identified users, management and technical team members
Identify, analyze, gather and translate business and product needs into business requirements, as well as plans for the most effective/efficient approach
Leverage technology & transformation frameworks in developing a best-in-class enterprise architecture design to meet customer business objectives
Remain focused and objective while directing a group with contrasting ideas/needs towards a common solution; gains consensus and approval on requirements
Liaise with & jointly work on design of enterprise architecture solution in consultation with Solution Architect, Delivery Manager, Transition Lead, Transformation Lead & other enabling functions
Contribute to Practice initiatives - creation of knowledge repository, defining/streamlining processes, recruitment, service catalog design etc.
Manage and controls scope across business processes and functional areas
Manages the solutions/product needs/requirements and works with the business and technical teams to support the implementation of an appropriate solution
Lead development efforts on complex solutions and/or interfaces and drive strategy of unified enterprise development platforms
Define and delivering enterprise solutions by applying proven delivery methodologies including Agile and Model-Driven techniques
Evangelize & build technical competencies in one or more technology/service domains (DC, Network, Security etc.)
Understand our business processes and applies those to the development of custom application technology solutions
Work with multiple groups to understand their requirements to design, develop and communicate system and integration architectures that are secure, scalable and sustainable
Analyze, resolve, document and communicate system integration questions and system design decisions
Design and lead short and long-term standardization and process improvement efforts for systems and software
Foster and monitor standards alignment with all future and current system architecture
Be responsible for designing and documenting solutions containing components of infrastructure and applications communicating these solutions to team members, application owners and management

Qualifications / Knowledge & Experience: Briefly describe the knowledge, skills, demonstrated behaviors and experience required for entry into the position/role


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Industrial Sciences
Graduate degree or progressive educational certificate
Enterprise Architecture certifications such as TOGAF


7 + years in architecting, designing, or implementing ERP applications
In depth knowledge of ERP best practices specifically in Distribution & Sales
Must have extensive experience in architecting & design of ERP applications based on platforms such as MS D365 / Oracle ERP / Infor / SAP
Software development experience
Experience working with business users performing system and integration architecture activities
Strong interest in innovative technologies and desire to work on pioneering engagements
Experience in delivery of Integration and BPM solutions
Experience with system integration methods and technology platforms such as MuleSoft, IBM WebSphere, Oracle SOA, Tibco Business Works, Software AG webMethods or Open Source Middleware product

Technical Skills

Agile, DevOps
Strong knowledge with Enterprise techniques
Experience in system administration
Experience in building resilient integration between SaaS solutions and Enterprise applications
Knowledge of network communications such as firewalls, load balancers, IP addresses, DNS, and corporate internet proxy configuration as it relates to exchanging data across systems within public cloud, comm centers, and 3rd party SaaS
