The College of Medicine, Department of Neurosurgery is seeking a full-time Research Assistantto join the McGuireLab. This position will support the University's mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff and all our activities.
The McGuire lab is looking for an organized, team-oriented research assistant with a background in the sciences; neuroscience or molecular biology is ideal. The applicant must be willing to work with large animals and hands-on experience in a medical or veterinary setting is desirable. Demonstrated ability in data analysis and scientific writing is a plus. This position requires flexibility in scheduling with some long days.
Perform experiments and records data according to research protocols.
Interpret data and assist in judging validity of data. May perform statistical and graphical analysis of data.
May assist in animal colony management and animal husbandry.
Apply research principals for less complex assignments.
Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.
Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Additional related work experience may be required depending on field or discipline.
