The Metering Services Business Development Manager will be responsible for, sales, management, direction, and development of successful water meter deployment services teams across the United States. Additionally, responsible for customer relations with current and future clients, and coaching and development of reporting staff. Works with the Bermex leadership in the pursuit of new business and management of appropriate service lines. Majority of work involves day to day interaction with Operations team and staffdeveloping process, procedure, training, and services directly related to water metering, AMI/AMR changeouts, leak detection and components thereof. A high degree of organization and attention to detail will be necessary to successfully perform this function.

Duties & Responsibilities

Essential & Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assess, plan, develop, and deliver training and learning initiatives for staff individuals and the organization, in consultation with departmental heads and operational resources, including assessment methods and results measurement.
Sales and Marketing with the process of securing new business.
Serve as lead in operational activities to achieve business goals.
Establish and promote responsible staffing.
Serves as a Champion for Safety; works closely with the company safety manager to implement safety plans.
Participate in strategic planning sessions and implementation.
Advise and coordinate resources and staff to achieve schedule and compliance goals.
Responsible for communicating, monitoring, and implementing company policies and procedures.
Manage, supervise, assist, advise, and delegate subordinate tasks and duties, projects, and performance.
Implement company rules and regulations and department policies and procedures.
Propose and monitor department budget and spending.
Advise all Project Managers with development and implementation of action plans and resolutions to issues.
Operational responsibility for assigned projects, as evidenced by successful development and maintenance of client relationships.
Responsible for new service and product development.
Assist the M&A team with industry intelligence, target review and due diligence.
Performing annual evaluation of reporting staff to address annual goals.
Achieve a culture of superior and supportive employee relations as evidenced by:
Appropriate compliance with Bermex policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Addressing, in a timely manner, any employee concerns or complaints.
Effective communication with direct reports and team members.
Traveling to project managers and direct report's locations.
Maintaining accurate and complete documentation of any employee issues.
When necessary, discipline staff up to and including termination.

Equipment, environmental and safety requirements:

Lifting work requiring the exertion of up to 50 pounds of force occasionally



Strong Knowledge/understanding/application/installation of AMI/AMR water meters.
Proficient is computer applications.
Ability to interview, train and supervise field employees.
Financial understanding (rates, wages, project margins).
Capable of large project development and startups.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Minimum Education:

Associates degree from an accredited college or university.

Preferred Education:

Master's level work from an accredited college or university preferred.

Minimum Experience:

At least 2 years of Senior Manager experience in the water metering industry.
At least 5 years of experience in operations management with relevant experience in water metering, AMI/AMR project deployment.
Experience with AMI/AMR communications hardware deployment preferred.

Preferred Experience:

At least 3 years of Senior Manager experience in the water metering industry.
At least 8 years of experience in operations management with relevant experience in water metering, AMI/AMR project deployment.
Experience with AMI/AMR communications hardware deployment.

Supervisor Responsibilities:

Directs and monitors all aspects of the assigned projects.
Provide training on process and procedure to management staff.
Establishes position accountabilities and performance standards for positions within scope of responsibility and assuring that Bermex accounting policies, procedures and regulations are known.
Establishes process plans and standard operating procedures for new services and products. This would include operational goals, quality assurance, safety protocols, and pricing matrix.
Provides regular feedback on employee performance relative to performance expectations, including an annual performance review, for the employee's position within the unit.
Provides on-going coaching of subordinates.
Establishes with each employee within the unit a set of expectations and activities for the employee's personal training and development related to improved performance and the opportunity for promotion, while providing a nurturing environment to improve the employee's skills.
Identifies the desired employee criteria for a new hire into a vacant position within the scope of management areas.
Encourages a culture of openness, process improvement and communication.
Traveling, up to 50% of working time, to visit clients and internal staff.
Identifies a plan for replacing the incumbent of the Project Manager position if such vacancy should occur.
