Job Description


The Demand Analyst is responsible for developing and maintaining multi-level demand plans in support of operational, S&OP and financial planning. This position involves detailed data mining, analysis, research, reporting, and systems management. The Demand Analyst will work closely with the sales team to ensure that our forecasts are aligned to the upcoming S&OP demand plans, new/transition item strategies, POS and promotional demand. This position is responsible for tactical maintenance of the demand plans including database integrity, weekly tracking and new/transition item and promotional ownership. This position plays an integral role in securing customer service and inventory optimization and serves as the link between our customers and supply points.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

The Demand Analyst is empowered to make decisions regarding the unit finished good forecast by branch plant, the process and tools used in the forecasting processes, adjustment of the unit forecast to reasonably match the sales projections at multiple forecast levels, promotional planning and cannibalization, and calculate and manage average selling prices for their responsibilities
Maintain and improve existing demand planning, forecasting, and replenishment processes
Responsible for the budget rank/Item/plant Forecast ownership
Generate and continuously review forecasts at multiple levels and understand how sales trends, POS and/or shipment patterns affect future demand and make adjustments
Manage the Demand planning processes and plans for all assignments
Institutionalize and evolve forecasting/demand planning process including collaboration, timing, format, etc.
Obtain and monitor customer and market information and integrate into forecasts
Contribute to promotional planning and future cannibalization
Develop and maintain all key variables assumptions related to demand planning
Monitor the flow and sell-through for all promotions by customer
Perform root cause analysis of all appropriate forecast to demand exceptions at the item level
Work as liaison between Sales, Marketing, and Materials Planning to follow-up on various sales, forecast, planning, service and inventory issues
Develop working relationships with Sales Account Managers and maintain open communication while providing support for logistics functions
Attend and contribute to key meetings involving customer forecast
Develop relationships with key customer contacts to review demand projections and other opportunities
Work with Sourcing, Planning, Sales, Manufacturing and Distribution, and key customer business analysts on all stock-out or potential stock-out issues

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management or related field or equivalent experience
1+ years' experience, preferably in Demand Planning or analytical role
Strong quantitative and analytical skills
Ability to convert data into valuable information
PC software experience using Excel, forecasting software, SAP, Oracle, Retail Portals or additional database experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and to work on multiple projects with strong attention to detail
Highly creative and adaptable in creating and building campaigns that result in positive business outcomes

This is a fast-paced work environment with consistent pressure to complete duties as outlined above which requires ability to manage multiple projects at a detailed level and provide support to many internal departments in a fast-changing environment.
