ACCO Brands is seeking an Associate Product Manager for our Visual Communications (primarily boards and accessories) product line. This position offers an individual a great opportunity in classic product management within ACCO Brands.
The APM executes marketing plans for assigned products specific to our Commercial and the respective eCommerce channels. This position assists in the management of new and existing product lines through the complete product life cycle, from development and launch to management and an exit strategy. You will be developing and marketing products under the industry leading Quartet brand. Success in this role will require you to be comfortable being the go-to person on inquiries within the organization, as the subject matter expert on your products/channels.
Work with the Product Director to manage portfolio P&L including mix management, pricing, new product development, three-year strategic plan and channel strategies
Product portfolio/lifecycle management - assist with SKU rationalization, product positioning and competitive strategy; Evaluates product portfolio performance and profitability
Work closely with cross functional teams such as: sales, purchasing, category management, creative and manufacturing functions on design and product specifications. Acts as project leader on go-to-market and product management activities.
Assist in the developmentand participation in presentationsalong with sales to key customers
Ensure on-time delivery of productsand inventory management,working closely with Supply Chain Management and Sales teams
Execute marketing materials associated with respective product line providing direction on new product information, product changes, and the direction of copy, photography, merchandising and product content
Product continuity & alignment - assist with pricing, product quality & and forecasting
Prepare and participate in product specific customer presentations/annual reviews as needed; assist with managing customer communications.
Acts as the product expert in answering customer service and sales questions about specific products
Participate in/lead cross functional teams on specific projects (i.e. new products, cost savings, packaging, inventory management and integrated marketing programs)
Mines industry and user data for new insights for the business, products, and market(s)
Drives changes and strategy for product content used in Product Information Packages (PIPs) for current products
BS/BA is required, preferably in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field
Minimum of4 years of marketing experience is required
Strong written, interpersonal and presentation skills
Experience working with cross functional teams
Excellent organizational and analytical skills
Project management and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline driven environment
Experience with commercial channel preferred and Amazon/eCommerce
Experience with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Travel: Approximately 10-15%; less in 2021
