Job Overview: 

The Flexographic Press Operator is responsible for setting up the press correctly to run jobs, maintaining smooth operation of the press during runtime to ensure quality products, and keeping the press area clear of waste. A person in this role with exceptional performance will have the opportunity over time to be promoted to a Press Lead role and assist in technical troubleshooting and floor management. An ideal candidate is someone with Flexographic press operating experience, is quality minded, has good attendance, and possesses a desire to grow their career with us! Our Batavia plant runs a seven day per week operation with a 2-shift production schedule, 12 hour shifts with overtime as required by business needs for the Flexographic Press Operator. 


Job Duties: 

Collect and verify all materials stated on job specification sheet to complete the next run. 

Clean ink off rollers and press, rid screens of debris, certify press is clear of obstacles. 

Adjust settings on computer software for press specifications and quality needs.  

Examine plates, ink colors, sheet lengths, and other items to produce accurate labels. 

Efficient in installing and setting up screen heads, foil towers, and other press equipment. 

Mount plates and dies in correct position and feed as stated on job specification sheet. 

Pour and refill the inks into the correct ink pans to maintain optimal running conditions and ink levels.  

Ensure smooth operation and timely pace of production line to meet restrictions and deadlines. 

Related duties as assigned. 


Experience/Skills Required: 

High school education or equivalent. 

Exhibits a safety-first attitude in all that is done, from proper personal protection equipment compliance to keeping the work environment safe and hazard-free. Compliance with all workplace and safety standards required. 

Technical and mechanical experience in printing/operating, Flexographic printing preferred. 

Keen attention to detail to verify all materials being added are correct. 

Responsibility for work produced and problem-solving skills to fix errors. 

Ability to communicate and relay information down the line that will affect quality. 

Ability to stand and move around work area for long periods of time. 

Possess skills to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment.
