FACULTY-GOOD SAMARITAN COLLEGE-SUPPLEMENTAL STAFFING: This position exists to provide supplemental/adjunct instruction for courses offered at the Good Samaritan College of Nursing. The instruction may be in general education or in nursing. Responsible for classroom and laboratory (if applicable) teaching activities in assigned course. Actively supports an outcomes-based learning centered culture through continued professional development for improvement of self and the college in keeping with the College's learning-centered values and goals. Reports to and operates under the direction and supervision of the Department Chair.
A qualified faculty member in sociology meets the discipline standard through one of two routes:
1. Possesses an earned master's or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in sociology, social work, or social psychology, or
2. Possesses an earned master's or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in any field with 18 hours in sociology and/or in any field with 18 graduate semester hours in sociology related courses, including a course in statistics and/or research methodology.
EDUCATION: Master's Degree Other in field related to course being taught
EXPERIENCE: 2-3 years Professional Teaching faculty will have at least 24 months of sufficient diversified professional experience to support effective teaching.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Provide evidence of recognized professional competence; Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Must have either proven or presumptive scholarship in subject matter field.
