Trimble is recruiting for a Training Specialist to fill an opportunity in Dayton, OH.
The Caterpillar Trimble Control Technologies (CTCT) Joint Venture develops positioning and control products for earthmoving machines in the construction and mining industries, using technologies such as GNSS, optical total stations, lasers, and sonics. The products are used in a range of applications where the operator of the machine and site manager benefits from having accurate horizontal and vertical guidance and control.
The Training Specialist is responsible for the design, development, and presentation of materials used to train product managers and dealers on machine control and guidance systems for the earthmoving, paving, and mining industries. Being an experienced member of the Caterpillar Trimble Control Technologies (CTCT) team, the Training Specialist will provide instruction and guidance for less experienced staff to build their knowledge, skills, and aptitude within the machine control and guidance industry.
Work with relevant staff and subject matter experts (SMEs) from within CTCT and its parent companies to develop training solutions and materials focused on the installation, operation, and application of machine control and guidance systems.
Train Trimble, Cat, and CTCT internal staff on the installation, operation, troubleshooting, and application of machine control and guidance systems. Global travel is required for this duty.
Work as part of a cross-functional team to design, develop, and implement accredited training and/or certification programs.
Build and maintain strong relationships with technical support staff. The Training Specialist may be called on to assist support staff in solving machine control and guidance related problems that arise from their customers.
Maintain open communication with product development to assist in the successful progression of training materials and to provide feedback which assists in the further development of our machine control and guidance systems.
Design, develop, and implement instructor-led supporting materials along with providing subject-matter expertise for eLearning developers.
Maintain a strong relationship with the CTCT User Assistance and User Experience teams. Work with these teams to ensure an excellent user experience and provision of valuable user documentation in the product as well as utilising their expertise in development of high quality training material.
Maintain a strong working knowledge of heavy machinery equipment and its operation as well as the construction workflows in which it is used. Be able to explain to others how and why CTCT's systems are used to benefit the machine operator in the field.
Undertake personal development and training to keep abreast of the latest techniques, systems, and processes for which CTCT technology may be employed in the field.
Ensure familiarity with other systems that CTCT's products may interact with in order to identify and explain these interactions in training. Examples might include, but not limited to, Trimble Business Centre software, Trimble WorksManager, and Caterpillar factory installed technology.

Skills & Experience Required

Understanding of the techniques and systems employed in civil construction work. Experience with Trimble machine control and civil construction solutions a plus. Experience operating heavy machinery would be beneficial
