JOB DESCRIPTION

The Park Manager East is responsible for assisting with the management of Riverbend Recreation Area, Blanchard River Nature Preserve, Jackson Landing, and conservation areas; maintaining parks, trails, facilities, buildings, vehicles, and equipment; developing, recommending, and implementing park improvement projects; and supporting programs and services.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

A bachelor’s degree in Park Management, Natural Resources, Environmental Sciences, Construction Management, or a closely related field and two years of relevant experience in the area of park management and hands-on maintenance of grounds, facilities, buildings, vehicles, and equipment is preferred. However, any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential duties of the position will be considered. The Park Manager East is expected to be proficient with Microsoft Office software applications, have the ability to communicate in a clear and professional manner both orally and in writing, demonstrate high professional standards and a progressive park management mindset, and be willing to accept new challenges, technologies, and opportunities.

 

SALARY AND BENEFITS

The base pay for this position is $18.00 an hour. The Park Manager East works a maximum of 40 hours a week including occasional weeknights and weekends, while utilizing a flexible time arrangement to prevent overtime. Two paid 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute unpaid lunch break are available. Classification:  Grade 5 – Permanent, Full-time, Nonexempt. Benefits include health, dental and life insurance, paid vacation, holidays and sick leave, one paid personal day each year after six months of employment, and a pension plan through the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS).
