About the Job

Description

As a Senior Market Research Analyst you will interpret and project trends derived from collection, study and analysis of data from corporate surveys, studies, secondary research, competitive intelligence gathering, environmental scanning and market trends to evaluate existing and potential market opportunities.

Conduct primary research via surveys, focus groups, key stakeholder interview, online community panel and other relevant methods. Develop, design and implement survey instruments.

Understand, utilize and recommend most effective and robust research techniques and methods to assess competitive threats and stakeholder needs and expectations.

Plan, oversee and conduct secondary research, including environmental scanning, to assist in identifying industry best practices for analytics.

Communicate research findings to organization's key stakeholders and throughout the enterprise via reports, presentations, dashboards, pulses and other relevant mechanisms.

Provide quality assurance and quality control oversight to all research processes of department.

Develop and implement market research plans incorporating both quantitative and qualitative research methods.

Able to obtain/extract relevant consumer insights from both qualitative and quantitative research methods; share and translate results for system leadership and key stakeholders, ensuring the ongoing relevance of the applied research to operational decision-making.

Remain current with evolving research trends, techniques and technologies within the health care industry.

Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with other departments and functions within University Hospitals' enterprise whose work also includes data gathering, analytics and insight development including Strategic Planning, Center for Clinical Research Technology, IT+S and Finance.

Maintain high degree of understanding re: key issues affecting the organization and delivery of health care services (e.g. HIPAA, ACOs, Meaningful Use, Population Health and "big data").

Maintain comprehensive understanding of UH products, services and strategies to leverage insight integration.

Qualifications

Experience and Knowledge

MA/MS in marketing, social and behavioral sciences or statistics preferred.

BA/BS in marketing, social and behavioral sciences, or statistics required and 5-7 years' experience

Experience in applied market research settings within corporate environment

Healthcare experience strongly preferred

5-7 in increasingly responsible team and matrix environments, working with ad hoc project teams

Must have hands-on experience with survey development and design, sampling methods, data analysis and report writing.

Excellent analytic, decision-making, organizational and creative problem-solving skills

Superior writing skills in order to produce reports, tables and data visualization for senior leadership and other key stakeholders

Experience overseeing development and execution of primary and secondary research plans

Superior quantitative research skills

Qualitative research skills

Able to manage multiple competing priorities

Special Skills and Equipment Knowledge

Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, SAS, SQL, Word, Outlook, Qualtrics, Tableau and other proprietary research software

Strong project management experience

Proficiency with statistical analysis, including propensity modeling

Dynamic, fast paced environment requiring a consultative mindset, flexibility, and natural curiosity

Strong presentation skills

Demonstrated strong collaborative and interpersonal skills

Able to interact independently with a multiple diverse stakeholder groups throughout the enterprise
