Job Overview


Responsible for policy identification and analysis, representing the university at all levels of government, coordinating engagement efforts and assisting in executing the university's government relations strategy.

Essential Functions



Identify, articulate, analyze the university's public policy expertise for local, state and national agenda on a variety of topics including higher education.
Engage with internal university stakeholders and external interested parties to advance the university's agenda.
Provide active leadership to advocate for university interests. Represent university to appropriate organizations to develop relationships and maintain contact.
Work closely with academic institutions and administrative organizations on policy development and analysis. Promote educational opportunities for students.
Assist with the development and execution of engagement strategies. Provide support for various projects and communications.
Track legislative, regulatory and policy issues and draft issue briefings, policy memos, etc.
Coordinate public officials visits to campus and serve as designee.
May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.

Required Education


Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience


Five (5) years of relevant experience.

Additional Qualifications Considered


Five (5) - Ten (10) years of relevant experience.
