Digital Editor - McKinsey Sustainability
4-6 years of experience in a communications-related field (e.g. business journalism, corporate communications)
Familiarity with social media analytics tools and best-practices
Evidence of intellectual curiosity as demonstrated by other professional training and outside activities
Outstanding organizational and project management skills; ability to execute with speed, high level of accuracy and efficiency, attention to detail, and follow-through
Strong influencing and interpersonal skills; track record of working effectively and forming peer-level relationships with senior members of an organization
Proven track record creating effective and innovative communications channels and programs including for digital content
Proven ability to reframe sophisticated business content for social media
Exceptional writing and editing skills; ability to write in different styles tailored to stakeholder, audience and message
Who You'll Work With
You will be based in one of our offices in North America or Europe as part of McKinsey Sustainability. You will be responsible for creating and driving digital strategy and content in support of the firm's vision and strategic priorities for a fast-growing client service area.
McKinsey Sustainability aims to be the preeminent impact partner and advisor for our clients on sustainability, climate, energy transition and environmental, social and governance (ESG). Our goal is to help all industry sectors transform to get to net zero by 2050 and to cut carbon emissions by half by 2030. We are working with clients to lead a wave of innovation and economic growth that safeguards our planet and advances sustainability.
As part of our McKinsey Sustainability communications team, you will work with our global communications director, Europe and North America sustainability communications colleagues, our publishing team and content experts to create an online strategy and online and multimedia content to further our thought leadership agenda for sustainability. You will work with internal and external colleagues to create plans and materials that position content in ways that meet objective. You will also work with McKinsey authors and editors to write content ranging from LinkedIn posts to video scripts and blog posts as well as collaborate with designers/producers.
What You'll Do
You will create and implement an online strategy for disseminating McKinsey Sustainability's research and insights including web, video, social media, graphics and email.
Combining email marketing, social media, website optimization and content creation, you will create campaigns and communications to engage online communities of senior business leaders on sustainability topics. You will share innovative communications approaches to drive engagement. You will lead projects and campaigns and review materials to identify key messages and potential for engaging communications.
You will create visual assets and rich media using self-service tools. You will review, edit and proof content produced by colleagues to ensure consistency of voice, tone and style. In addition, you will work within an editorial calendar and production processes to publish social content. You will generate ideas for series, franchises and format innovations that increase audience engagement. You will also track and measure performance and impact of digital communications initiatives.
