The Area Supervisor II supports and backs-up the Tiffin Plant Manager with managing all aspects of operations and maintenance of the entire Tiffin water system and manages the Ohio Satellite systems that are operated by a 3rd Party.
Assist Plant Manager with managing all aspects of operations and maintenance of the Tiffin water system. Assume the full responsibilities of the Tiffin Plant Manager in the complete operation of all facilities on a temporary and/or everyday basis as required. Supervises and directs Aqua personnel and contractors with complete oversight of the assigned Satellite Systems throughout Ohio.
Monitor data to review the operation of all assigned facilities, monitor alarms, analyze computer generated data and respond with effective and timely emergency repairs.
Work with the Compliance, Engineering, Safety, Customers Operations and Accounting departments, as needed, to increase productivity and meet high quality standards in the most cost-effective manner while solving and anticipating problems.
Must be available to respond to emergencies after hours.
Supervision and on-going training of personnel at assigned locations.
Resolving labor relations issues and other personnel problems.
Administering applicable safety policies.
Interact with the local communities and the elected officials by attending meetings and community functions as required.
Assure outstanding communications with personnel and Aqua Ohio management including listening, communicating expectations, providing all relevant information and feedback in a timely manner.
Maintenance of buildings and grounds at assigned locations.
Maintaining files, records, equipment manuals, schedules, payroll and all operating data.
Oversee the maintenance of the pumping, mechanical and electrical facilities and the records of repairs at assigned locations.
Oversee maintenance of parts inventory and preparation of requisitions for chemicals, fuel, parts and supplies at assigned locations.
Accept delegated responsibilities and perform other tasks as necessary.
Oversee maintenance of security systems and enforcing company directives.
Ensuring all operations are in compliance with Ohio EPA and Ohio PUC regulations. Oversee compliance of required regulatory reporting at assigned locations
Ensuring the work order program for the assigned facilities are fully functional and up to date.
Coordinate and oversee capital projects at assigned facilities.
Conduct regular site visits to assigned facilities.
A College degree is preferred, ideally a bachelor's degree in a related field.
Between 4 and 8 years of industry experience.
The candidate must hold a valid Ohio EPA Class III Water Supply Certification.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Previous experience should also include managing capital improvement projects, managing operating budgets, work with computer control systems and programming, environmental chemistry and laboratory procedures, computational skills to calculate chemical dosages and determine calibration of chemical feed systems, basic mechanical skills to maintain large pumps, drives, motors, piping systems, chemical feeders and storage tanks, knowledge of electrical power distribution and control systems. Must be computer literate, especially with word processing, e-mail and spreadsheet applications.
Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to effectively conduct business with internal and external customers and represent the company; excellent computer skills especially with customer accounting, spreadsheet applications and service order/asset management systems. Strong organizational and leadership skills are essential with an ability to manage multiple people and priorities.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
May be subject to extreme temperatures, noise, wet and/or humid conditions, mechanical, electrical, gas exposure hazards, fumes, dusts, mists, gases and/or poor ventilation atmospheric conditions.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
