The Marketing Communications manager is responsible for developing and managing the Medical BU marketing communication strategy and activities. This role will communicate the Medical Business Unit vision and position to the marketplace. This position is responsible for all facets of Marketing Communications, including event coordination, content generation, branding, advertising, social media and digital marketing. To this end, this position leads the MARCOM team, setting responsibilities and objectives as well as selecting and overseeing outside service providers.

Essential Functions

1. Develop in collaboration with the sales and product management teams an external global messaging strategy for the Medical BU that is aligned with messaging strategy and guidelines of the Life Sciences activity and Saint-Gobain branding guidelines.In support of this, creation and delivery of content that clearly communicates and promotes the BU's value to the Life Sciences Industry:

Working with the appropriate functional activities (Marketing, R&D, Engineering and Operations) within the BU to solicit and co-develop thought leadership and promotional collateral

Development of a robust digital execution / delivery strategy for the above noted content
Branding and Design: Ensure proper resources to develop content in line with the branding strategy; including but not limited to: artwork and infographics, advertisements, templates, videos, graphic design for brochures, etc

2.Ownership, maintenance and optimization of the website(s) related to the Medical BU and other digital channels such as social media platforms. Key efforts should be focused on the development and improvement of a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategy and identification of key metrics to track and improve our performance. Additionally, monitor and benchmarking of competitive websites and implementation of best practices.

3.Management of all Medical Trade Show activities globally: In coordination with the Medical Marketing coordinator, the MARCOM manager will establish the overarching messaging and branding strategy for tradeshows, continuously assess the tradeshow landscape and ensure Medical BU gets the most out of those shows.

4.Development and implementation of a lead tracking methodology that collects, assigns and monitors our lead generation performance with the intent to increase both quantity and quality of generated leads.

5.Manage the MARCOM operational expense budget for all MARCOM activity including trade show costs and logistics, promotional campaign costs, outside service fees associated with content creation, web hosting and development fees, and any additional MARCOM expense. Additionally, the MARCOM manager will be responsible for constructing and justifying the MARCOM budget for the upcoming fiscal year and ensuring the best ROI on marketing campaign.

6.Manage the MARCOM team members including allocation of responsibilities, prioritization of activities, and creation of annual goals and objectives for the MARCOM team.


  REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
 

 
Education

Bachelor's Degree inin Marketing, Communications or business related field is required.
Master's Degree in Business Administration is preferred.
4+ years in B2B or B2C Marketing Communications with a significant focus on promotion and content creation, experience with large MarCom projects such as social media, branding, etc. is required.
Expertise in digital marketing strategy and best practices is required.
Familiarity with the concepts of biotechnology and/or medical device industry is preferred.
2-5 years team management is preferred (this position will have direct reports).

Leadership

Must be capable of establishing a position of influential authority with regards to content creation and our outward messaging. The ideal individual will be willing and able to critique and provide creative direction to all externally directed content (white papers, videos, advertisements, data sheets, website, etc.)

Additionally, the individual will lead the MARCOM team within the Medical Marketing group, creating an external 'voice' for the Medical business that is consistent with the capabilities and vision of the Medical and LS business. It will be the responsibility of the individual to lead the Medical business in developing "external messaging" around that voice.

Managing, leading and directing the work of the MARCOM team.

Communicating and Influencing Skills

The individual must be capable of working in a team environment, soliciting the input and assistance of a variety of functional activities in support of the Medical content development, while influencing the business to achieve buy in and consistency in our external message.
Managing priorities and allocating resources with several projects running in parallel, multiple internal customers and time-sensitive tasks

Travel Requirements

20% of the time to support major trade shows and intercompany meetings
