As our Sales Solution Engineer, you'll participate in a full range of pre-sales activities from lead qualification to vendor selection by prospective customers as well as identifying opportunities with existing customers. You will provide technical assistance during lead qualification, assist the pre-sales team with technical issues and creating work products. The Presales Team is proactive, adaptable to changes, flexible, and don't possess an ego. They have a "we win as a team" mentality!

What you will be doing

Act as the technical point of contact on standard customer engagements
Coordinate customer pre-sales meetings and determine technical requirements
Create a demonstration of the solution strategy, applying basic solutions and best practice knowledge
Present demonstration of proposed solution to key customer stakeholders for validation and buy-in
Coordinate meeting with global services to transition key information; remain actively involved in process to ensure seamless transfer of customer
Compose internal documentation that fully reflects all activity related to the solution strategy
Provide technical responses for request for proposals (RFPs)
Consistently provide input on how to improve internal efficiencies; grow knowledge and be aware of best practices and market trends
Participate in trade shows, conferences and events
Work with Development in support of solution enhancements
Comply with all corporate and departmental privacy and data security policies and practices, including but not limited to, Hyland's Information Systems Security Policy

What will make you successful

Bachelor's degree in related field, such as Management Information Systems or Computer Science
Prior experience as part of an Enterprise Software technical team and knowledge on how to drive and shape a typical sales cycle
Experience with solutions around Content Management (ECM) and/or Process Automation/improvement (BPM) as well as Records Management (RM)
Understanding of the Cloud and AWS solutions
Experience with Java and Javascript required
Linux and Windows Administration
Salesforce knowledge for reporting and dashboards
Knowledge of Alfresco Content Services and Process Services or Nuxeo would be helpful

Knowledge of general software implementation methodologies
Support experience with a consulting driven approach
Able to thrive in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
Self-directed with the ability to manage projects to completion
Good collaboration skills, applied successfully within team as well as with other areas
Demonstrated ability to develop and use engaging, informative and compelling presentation methodologies
Speak or write with ease, clarity and impact, using a communication style appropriate to the subject and the audience
Demonstrated ability to establish rapport and gain the trust of others; effective at gaining consensus
Driven to learn and stay current professionally
Up to 60% travel time required
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the principal duties of the job
